01/25/2015 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Ethan is a well rounded R/R 3B who has a projectable frame (6'1"/170). With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with a solid base. He has rhythm in his hands to load waiting for his pitch. Swing is level as he has some pop to his pull side. Getting into a loaded position sooner will help to avoid being rushed and will allow him to get more into his swing. At 3B, Torres shows active footwork as he moves well into a square fielding position. He is aggressive and comes to get the GB fielding it with sure hands. Presenting his glove and fielding the ball more out in front of his body will help to avoid getting the in-between hops. Only a 2017 grad - Ethan still has a lot of time to develop his skills to get to where he wants to be.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
