12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Evan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 2B for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.07. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

08/13/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Evan is a C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2027. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. At C, he showed efficient feet with a low/athletic sit. Shows good body control and tracks ball to mitt. Has a low secondary stance and works with good direction to second base. Works thumb under baseball keeping balls in the strike zone. Has a loose arm stroke into a high 3/4 release point and arm velocity up to 74mph and a best pop time of 2.4 seconds. In the OF, he showed good lateral range and plays with good energy/effort. Creates good angles and runs down balls in both gaps. At the plate he hits from an athletic and open stance. Shows good barrel control and has a high finish. Hit balls to the pull side. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Evan making huge strides on the baseball field.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Evan is a 2027 C prospect out of Honolulu, HI who showcased his skills at the BF National World Series at the Jackie Robinson Complex. Behind the dish, he is a true leader on the field who communicates well with his teammates. He has an easy sit and presents a good target. He tracks the ball well and shows off a loud mitt when receiving. He keeps his thumb under the baseball and keeps balls in the zone. Shows a quick arm stroke with an arm velocity up to 72mph and a best pop time of 2.37 seconds. Shows a good spine angle on his blocks and smoothers the baseball. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance with high/loose hands. He does a good job of rotating his core and works hard to get his lower half more involved. He shows good barrel control and hit balls into both gaps. In live game action, he reached base 6 times with a single, 3 walks, and reached on an error 2 times. Overall, Evan is an exciting prospect that we will keep an eye on as he continues to develop his baseball skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
