12/27/2010 - Christmas Camp and Tournament 2010 - Session 2 Evan is a two-way player in the OF plus on the mound with a thin frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Currently, he projects better in the OF for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.36 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive in playing through ground balls. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. His hands are good and his throws show accuracy, but he would benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and raising velocities. Offensively, Greco shows a balanced approach and makes consistent contact. He is more of a gap to gap hitter right now who shows quick hands. He needs to keep his swing short and let the ball travel to him in order to improve his hitting grades. On the mound, his fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph with an average breaking ball that needs further development to be a quality pitch at the next level. Evan is a coachable player with room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
