09/15/2024 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Evan is a right-handed pitcher, set to graduate in 2025, boasts a tall frame and lean build, providing him with long levers and ample room to grow. He demonstrates a solid rear hip coil, keeping his chest aligned with his glove, and maintains a strong position with his hands at the midline, square to his target. With a loose arm stroke, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, allowing him to effectively command his pitches. As a 5-pitch pitcher, he primarily works off his fastball, which has topped out at 85 mph, and complements it with a breaking ball that shows good depth, a slider with late break, a changeup with tailing action, and an advanced knuckleball for his age. At the plate, he exhibits quick hands and a late bat whip, hitting into a firm front side with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. During batting practice, he consistently hit hard line drives, highlighting his offensive potential. With a bright future ahead and opportunities at the next level, this player is one to watch as he continues to develop his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
