07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Evan is a lean, athletic 2019 two-way prospect who currently profiles better as a pitcher. He is consistently around the zone with all if his pitches and is able to throw any pitch in any situation to keep hitters guessing. He is a groundball machine with his tailing fastball and a changeup and shows arm side action. He gets to a solid balance point and works with efficient tempo down the mound to work low in the zone and induce weak contact. He shows good feel in the outfield with quick jumps on the ball and good reads off the bat. He works around the ball and makes strong, accurate throws to cut down runners trying to advance. At the dish, he shows a strong side that generates good bat speed and pop to the pull side. He stays through the zone and sprays base hits to all fields, making himself a tough hitter to get out. Keeping his head still will allow him to track the ball better and make more contact. Evan is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching during his senior season.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Evan is a tall, strong built RHP/OF prospect who has a versatile skill set. On the mound, Evan has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He pitches with good rhythm and extends through his release. Evan stays square to home plate with a controlled landing at the proper stride length. His fastball has tail action at 79-80 MPH. Evan also features a curveball and changeup with good potential. Offensively, Evan has a tall setup with his weight in the back of his stance and on his heels. He has a load with a long stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Evan flashes quick hands with his long swing path. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Evan stays behind the ball and makes the routine plays. He fields the ball in a high position with deep hands. Evan throws from a 3/4 arm slot and is working to play through the baseball. Overall, Evan has a well-rounded game and potential to improve with development.

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Evan is an athletic built RHP/OF prospect who plays the game hard and graduates in 2019. On the mound, Evan has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and extends through his release. He stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. He does a nice job rotating with his core towards his target as he finishes. Evan commands his fastball and shows medium break on his curveball. As a right-handed hitter, Evan has a closed setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He has a load with a closed stride as his lower half leads his swing. Evan shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path maintaining an effective bat angle. He is a contact type hitter who produces hard contact. In the field, Evan plays with active footwork and agile actions as he tracks the ball well. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position. He has a clean exchange leading into a quick arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. His throws are accurate with good carry. Overall, Evan is a versatile prospect who has potential to advance his skills with development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
