Evan is a 5ft 11/165 C/OF in the 2025 class. He recently competed well at the BF Preseason All American events and impressed scouts. Behind the plate, he demonstrates a solid base and stays low. His pocket has feel and he can create quick catch to release actions. Gains 3 qtr. slot and is accurate to the bag with a 2.16 pop. Shows advanced techniques and quickness on his blocks and recovers. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and gains a short stride. Shifts into his backside and generates explosive bat speed at 84 exit velo with great pull side pop. Shows he is versatile and can use the whole field based upon pitch location. Overall, Evan is a solid prospect in the 2025 class.
12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament
Evan continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Academic All American showcase. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.00 range with accuracy / carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with 3 BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
06/26/2023 - National Showcase - Rosemont (Chicago), IL
Evan continues show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.10 with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential is well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.
12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1
Evan is a 2025 C who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. Behind the dish, Evan tracks pitches well and works his thumb under the baseball. He works with good direction and gains ground towards second base. He has an athletic/square secondary stance. Shows a quick arm stroke, with ability to get rid of ball, and throws were on the bag. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 82mph and a best pop time of 2.0 seconds. Showed efficient footwork on his blocks, with his chin tucked, and covers the 5-hole. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with loose hands. Starts with a soft stride, with a small hand load, and rotates his lower half to contact point. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during BP. In live game action, Evan showed good plate discipline as he reached baes 5 times with a single and 4 walks. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Evan making huge strides on the baseball field.
