10/09/2024 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2028) Eyshen Kitagawa is a well-rounded and talented prospect, excelling both on the mound and in the field. At the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic, Eyshen displayed excellent defensive skills at third base, with a good glove, accurate arm, and a clean exchange. His footwork is solid, allowing him to handle ground balls with confidence and make strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Eyshen's defensive fundamentals are strong, and he shows great potential to continue improving his range and mobility. On the mound, Eyshen's fastball was clocked at 79 MPH, and he complemented it with an effective curveball at 71 MPH and a changeup at 68 MPH. He has great control of his off-speed pitches, demonstrating an ability to attack the zone and mix speeds effectively. His awareness of when to change speeds and keep hitters off balance sets him apart and makes him a dangerous pitcher with a strong future on the mound. At the plate, Eyshen has a really good bat path and consistently makes solid contact, leading to a line-drive swing that produces hard-hit balls. He has excellent strike zone discipline, as evidenced by his ability to draw three walks and collect two base hits during the tournament. His ability to work counts and make pitchers throw strikes shows maturity at the plate and a solid understanding of hitting. Overall, Eyshen Kitagawa is a highly promising prospect with a well-rounded skill set. His solid defense, pitching command, and disciplined approach at the plate make him a valuable asset. With continued focus on refining his range defensively and adding power to his swing, Eyshen has the potential to develop into a standout player at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
