07/19/2007 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Fabian displays well above average ability with his arm, fielding ability and hitting ability. In the infield, he displays sure hands that work down and out front showing a soft action. He moves best to left and his actions currently are more suited for 2B at the next level. He does show some arm strength with good carry. At the plate, he does a nice job of staying closed allowing his hands to work inside the baseball. He displays a level swing path that stays behind and through the baseball at contact. As he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently, his power numbers will increase. Fabian showed on the mound and displayed an above average breaking ball with tight spin and good depth. He does show a lot of effort in his delivery and arm action. If some flaws in the delivery are corrected and body actions slowed down, he could develop into a possible relief arm at the next level. His best tool is his age, 2009 graduate. He still has time to further develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
