05/14/2017 - College PREP - Poughkeepsie, NY Frank is a lean, athletic SS who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is superior as indicated by his 60 time of 6.67. At SS, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities in his feeds / turns of the double play. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate is where he shows outstanding hitting with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Lower half works well through the swing with gap to gap pop. Frank has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
