08/04/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Middletown, CT - PM Frank is a tall, lanky, RHP / OF that will graduate in 2011. On the mound, Frank has a long / loose arm action and fluid mechanics. He has a good idea on the hill and throws down in the zone. He is able to maintain his velocity from the windup to the strength position. Frank can get better on the mound with better glove side lead and better finish on his pitches. In the OF, Frank gets in a good ready position, he tracks the ball well, and he squares his shoulders to his target. He gets good glove side lead and throws with carry to his target. If Frank can get more momentum toward his target, and work on top of the ball, defensive grades can get better. Offensively, Frank has a loose grip, quiet head, and a level swing. He has average barrel accuracy and he can work the ball to all fields. Hitting can get better with a more proper load, higher hands, and a shorter stroke.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
