01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Gabriel is a 2027 middle infield prospect out of Washington, DC that recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. In the field, he gets in an athletic position pre-pitch and shows off efficient movements. He creates good angles to the baseball and does a great job of getting in a low fielding position with his hands out in front. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum to his targets with his throws. He is able to make accurate throws from multiple arm slots depending on the play. At the plate, he starts in a crouched stance and has loose hands. He has a small load and a controlled stride and does a great job of keeping his rhythm on-time to the baseball. His swing is short and direct to the baseball, and he shows off solid barrel control. He is able to consistently drive the ball to the middle of the field. He reached base in 3 of 6 plate appearances with a single and two walks. Gabriel is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of in the future!

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Gabriel is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. Medium frame lean build with strength present. At SS, he starts with efficient feet and takes aggressive angles to the baseball. Creates good angles glove side, with good glove actions, and fields from a square fielding position. Creates momentum on his throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 76mph. On the mound, he works with good direction and is around the zone. Throws a FB that sits 64-66mph with some arm side run, and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. A square glide step to start, with good rhythm to swing, and keeps weight between his knees. Shows a flat barrel path with ability to stay long and through the baseball. Hit baseballs to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Gabriel is a 2027 2B/RHP who improved his skills at the BF National World Series. On the mound he showed the ability to pitch to contact with good feel for both of his pitches. Worked his FB up to 62mph with good command. In live game action, he worked mainly on the outer half to hitters and induced soft contact. At the plate he hits in a tall and even stance with high hands. Does a good job of keeping his hands inside the baseball and hits the ball where it is pitched. During the tournament, he made consistent contact and reached base multiple times. In the field he did a good job of working downhill on groundballs and centers the baseball. Gabriel is a well-rounded young player that we hope to see more of in the future.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Gabriel is a tall, lean SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball more and play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 58-61 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Gabriel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
