08/08/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Los Angeles, CA Grabriel is an athletic C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.22 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-71 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Gabriel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
