12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Gabriel is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, Gabriel shows active footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making strong/accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into a simple load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He works through a compact swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority. On the mound, Gabriel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Gabriel operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits at 61mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 64-68mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Gabriel is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Gabriel is a 2025 SS/RHP who continues to impress with his baseball skills. A primary SS, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and quick/active feet. Shows his athleticism as he creates good fielding angles with aggressive first steps. Fields out front, with a low funnel, from an athletic fielding position. Has a quick transfer and ability to throw from multiple arm angles. His ball has good carry across the diamond with an arm velocity of 76mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher works exclusively from the stretch. Works off of his FB that has late life through the zone and topped out at 71mph. His curveball has 11/5 shape with good depth/tilt and is a swing and miss pitch. He throws his changeup with FB arm speed and good run. In live game action, Gabriel fanned 5 hitters in 3 innings of work. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance. Looseness to his hands as hits into a firm front side with good extension through contact. Showed ability to backspin balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity as high as 78mph. In live game action, Gabriel hit a triple into the RCF gap. He has a bright future on the baseball field with continued growth and development.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Gabriel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic, open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 4 for 5 with 3 BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. He is strong and confident for his age with a bright future ahead of him.

10/03/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Seattle, WA Gabriel is a lean SS/RHP who as a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, he showed a controlled / repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed range of 63-64 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Gabriel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
