05/28/2023 - National Showcase - Charleston, WV Gage continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness (6.06 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. Gage has a very high skill set and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

05/22/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Charleston, WV Gage continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.27 runner. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner and improve his secondary setup. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.12 with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Gage continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.15. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup, tracks well, and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Gage is a young and energetic C/OF that will graduate in 2024. Behind the dish he shows a low and confident target. As the pitch is thrown, he tracks the ball in well. As he works to throw, he replaces his feet making a clean 2-hand exchange. He delivers the throw to 2B on time with a clean arm action. Blocking, he gets to the ground on time with agile range keeping the ball in front of his body. At the dish, he shows a square setup with loose hands. As Gage loads he keeps his weight centered and fires his flower half. He works hard to make consistent contact showing the most power to the pull side. Gage shows great athletic foundations to build on and will continue to grow and develop.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Gage continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.50 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

06/19/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Charleston, WV Gage is a tall, athletic, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Gage has active feet, a presentable glove, and he sits in low. He has a solid base, centers when blocking, and throws with accuracy and a loose arm action to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.47 seconds. On the mound, Gage has good balance and he keeps his eyes on target. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction toward home, and is around the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Gage has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he works the ball gap to gap. He makes consistent contact and taps into his lower body. Gage can further improve skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
