01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Garrett is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who showed well during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Garrett shows efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a controlled stride. He shows fluid rhythm and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. On the mound, Garrett gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes on target. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Garrett shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 66mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits at 58mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Garrett is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/24/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Shreveport, LA Garrett is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Garrett has active feet, athletic actions, and he fields in a low/square position. In the OF, Garrett has a presentable glove and he takes good angles to the ball. He reads well off the bat, works around it well, and throws with momentum to his cut off man. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
