03/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Garrett is a 2021 C/RHP. Tall frame with athletic build with room to continue to fill out. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Primary C who presents low target and a soft glove. Arm strength jumps off the page with Garrett. Raw arm velocity of 92mph and consistent pop times of 1.98 during workouts. Beats ball to spot and keeps balls in strike zone. Creates good blocking angles and covers the 5 hole. Clean transfers and accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Right-handed pitcher, who commands 3 pitches. Simple and repeatable delivery with good hip coil and drives down the mound. FB was up to 81mph with late movement that he kept low in zone. CB has 11/5 shape with good depth through the zone. Changeup had late running action that he throws with FB arm speed. Right-handed hitter with upright and even stance. Short and simple stride with quick hands to ball. Gets lower half through with good extension and a gap to gap approach. Ball jumps off bat with a bat exit velocity of 87mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player making big strides and having opportunity to play at the next level.

02/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Garrett continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (89 mph). Offensively, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion with the ball screaming off of his barrel. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and -free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 77-80 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a plus feel for pitch with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Command / control is well above average as he locates well to both sides of the plate.

10/25/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Garrett continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 1.96 range with accuracy and on line zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

08/23/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Garrett is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (93 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 1.89. Offensively, he continues to shine with outstanding hitting abilities with pro level power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (92 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. Jackson has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/12/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Faure continues to shine on the diamond. With the bat, this strong righty displays an open stance with active/loose hands and fluid rhythm to load. He whips the barrel quickly, squaring the ball up and spraying the gaps. Behind the plate, he sits in low/athletic with good flexion. Lateral actions are quick as he gets around and centers pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Transfer is quick (88 mph) with pop times now at 1.97. Garrett is a talented catching prospect who has what it takes to play at a very high level.

11/09/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Fremont (San Jose), CA Garrett is an athletic C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Garrett shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws on-line to the 2B bag. In the OF, Garrett shows active footwork and moves well to his back hand side. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He gets into his load and takes a direct swing, leading to solid line drives. Overall, Garrett is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
