08/24/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - West Lawn, PA - PM George is a tall, lean, 2-way player that plays OF and RHP. He currently projects better in the OF as he enters his Senior year. Defensively, George has soft hands and he tracks the ball well. He uses 2 hands to catch, fields on the glove side, and he has a quick release. George throws accurately to his target with decent carry. Defensive skills can get better if George can avoid camping under the ball and add arm strength. On the mound, George has good size, he repeats his delivery, and keeps his eyes to his target well. He has a deceptive FB and has decent off-speed pitches. George will need to finish off his pitches better, use his size, and add arm strength in order to improve mound effectiveness. At the plate, George has good bat speed and barrel accuracy. He has an okay set-up, compact swing, and he squares the ball up well. More live hands and a shorter stroke will help solid hitting grades get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
