01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Gevon is a tall, lean, athletic OF, with a good set of baseball skills. He was timed at 6.94 in the 60 yard dash and he moves very well in the outfield. Gevon has good footwork, takes good angles to the ball, and he has an above average arm. He makes good adjustments in the OF, and makes plays on balls hit his way. If Gevon can stay lower when fielding ground balls, and quicken his 1st step, this athletic OF can get even better defensively. At the plate, Gevon has good balance and bat speed. He has a loose upper 1/2, and shows some signs of pop in his bat. More lower 1/2 use, and better barrel accuracy will help Gevon's offensive skills improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
