07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Gibson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work on plane, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/04/2024 - National Showcase - Indianapolis, IN Gibson is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2026. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Gibson has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
