10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Gibson is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Gibson shows quick footwork and works behind fly balls well. He gets into an athletic position and fields ground balls out in front of his body. His exchange is smooth and he gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with good backspin through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a level stroke with plus bat speed, producing consistent line drives. On the mound, Gibson gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a loose arm and stays inline toward the plate. Gibson operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 69mph with arm side run. Overall, Gibson is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
