12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic
Giuseppe showed smooth actions over at the hot corner in his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. He took good angles to approach the ball and was soft with the glove. Adding pre-pitch footwork will increase the effectiveness of his first step and enable him to continue playing infield as the game speeds up. At the dish, he gets his hands activated to launch and generates good bat speed to hit. He went 5-9 in his AB's, with two doubles and three singles and a handful of RBI's. He was consistent with his load and was controlled in his actions to hit. On the hill, he threw strikes and got outs by inducing a lot of ground balls. His two-seam fastball was a quality pitch with arm side run and he flashed feel for a CB with more 11/5 action this time around. All in all - LoDuca continues to show as an interesting prospect that will graduate this spring.

LoDuca showed as a 3B/RHP at the event and has really improved his baseball tools across the board. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Defensive grade in the IF are now outstanding as he displays clean / athletic actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he works around and through ground balls. Hands are soft / clean as he presents well out front. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life / carry on his throws. At the plate, hitting / power grades are now solid through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 82 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and throws more strikes.
12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament
Giuseppe continues to have a smooth glove at 1B. He fields cleanly, flashes the ability to pick the ball out of the dirt, and he moves around the bag well. He has a smooth exchange, and delivers the ball with consistency to his target. He needs to work on overall footspeed which will help with his lateral movement, and he would also benefit from doing long toss consistently. At the plate, Giuseppe tracks the ball well, he has good strike zone awareness, and he can spray to all fields. He can work on loading his hands a littler earlier, seeing the ball deeper, and keeping his front side closed. Each time we see him, he works hard and is a great teammate. It will be important for him to address speed and strengthening for his baseball over the next couple of years.

Giuseppe continues to show solid skills in the INF. Defensively, Giuseppe has soft hands, active feet, and decent range to the glove side. He is aggressive to the ball, he keeps it in front, and he throws with a long arm action with accuracy to his target. An earlier glove and playing more through the ball will help defensive skills at 1B and 3B improve. Offensively, Giuseppe has an athletic set-up, good balance, and proper timing. He has a level swing, he can work the ball gap-to-gap, and his balance is solid. More lower 1/2 and more direct hands to the ball can help improve hitting.

Giuseppe improved in some areas from his last event in both his hitting and fielding evaluations. He shows good glove work with good hands and accurate throws. He had better range to both his backhand and forehand sides. He needs to continue to work on his pre-pitch routine and keep his feet active consistently. At the plate, he continued to show his barrel accuracy and good balance with rhythm. He still has more to do with his lower half which will continue to improve his power hitting numbers. On the mound, he shows a repeatable delivery and control with his fastball. He needs to work at keeping his eyes on his target and have better balance after he delivers the ball to the plate as he tends to fall off towards 1st base. Again he is young and will continue to develop with maturity.
11/11/2010 - Pirate City Select Training
Giuseppe is a young 1st baseman who will graduate in 2015. Defensively, Giuseppe makes routine plays and has okay footwork around the bag. He throws with accuracy to his target, and needs to add arm strength and quicken his feet in order to get better. At the plate, Giuseppe is a patient hitter with a good eye. He has a balanced approach, athletic stance, and he puts the ball in play. Giuseppe has a little pop in his bat, and could add power with added physical strength. Repetition and T work, along with physical maturity will help numbers continue to improve.
11/06/2010 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Commuter)
Giuseppe is a natural, powerful hitter with good pop in his bat. He has great hand-eye coordination, and he squares the ball up well on the barrel of the bat. Giuseppe will need to continue to work on tilt and body turn, and start with parallel feet and a more athletic set-up.
