Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

08/02/2014 - National Tryout - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Waterhouse continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, this lefty shows a patient approach, letting the ball travel deep into the zone. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the whole field. At 1B, Quinn takes a quick first step and works into position behind the ground ball. He shows good bag awareness and can adjust to inaccurate throws. On the mound, this LHP works with good rhythm getting to a controlled balance point. He has a good feel for all of his pitches and throws strikes. He works to stay on top of his FB keeping it down in the zone. Changeup shows run and is thrown with FB arm speed. A 2018 grad - Quinn has a lot of time and will continue to develop his skills.

11/14/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Glenn is a young LHP and First baseman. Defensively, he displays good footwork around the bag and does want the ball. He also makes good pre-pitch adjustments. Glenn continues to improve his glove work and picking ability at 1B. On the mound, Glenn works around the zone well, keeps his eyes down on the target, and shows good arm side lead. Glenn continues to work on finishing his backside through and closing his front side during his stride to the plate. Offensively, Glenn shows some good pop pull side, with a good approach and does fairly well with pitch selection. He continues to get better strengthening his stride load and finishing his back half through during his swing. Glenn is a good teammate who enjoys the game and can continue to progress if he stays positive.

08/03/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Quinn is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1st base. Defensively, Quinn plays hard, his hands are sure, and his feet are active. He has good agility to the ball he fields athletically, and he throws with carry to his target from a long / loose arm. On the mound, Quinn has a long / loose arm action, a controlled balance point, and on-time separation. He has level shoulders, good direction toward home, and he finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Quinn has a tall set-up, good balance, and he lets the ball travel well. He swings aggressively, makes contact, and he can spray to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Pick out better hops
2. Quicken feet
Pitching
1. Loosen actions
2. Use lower body
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Widen base
2. Rhythm
3. More lower 1/2

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
