07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Grant continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, he displays solid infield actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body, showing good body control. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA In the last 10 months, this 2026 graduate has improved in most every metric we analyze; arm strength, speed, broad jump, 5-10-5 shuttle run, home to 1st time. Arm velocity bumped from 82mph to 88mph. Arm plays plus across the diamond with carry through the target. Grant moves well laterally and stays low to the ground, working from the ground up. Behind the plate, his pop times improved now at 2.07 seconds. At the plate, he gets extension, delivers the barrel consistently and uses the whole field. With three more years of high school baseball in front of him, we are expecting big things from Grant. He is one to watch.

02/05/2023 - National Showcase - Las Vegas, NV Grant is a gifted C/SS in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he shows hip mobility and agile movements. He can maintain the strike zone with a firm glove. Gets the ball in the air (2.14 pop) and is accurate to the bag. On the dirt, he has quick feet and fluid actions. Hands are soft and his exchanges are quick. Displays a strong arm that is accurate across the diamond. At the plate, he has a simple and compact swing. Stays balanced and repeats his path. Shows great pop in the bat at 87 exit velo and line drive production. Overall, Grant is a player to watch in the 2026 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
