09/19/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Grant is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame, with broad shoulders, and athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At first base, he is a big target for infielders to throw to and has some feel around the bag. He tries to create good fielding angles. Has a clean exchange work into a high 3/4 arm slot, with a loose arm, and on-line throws to second base up to 70mph. On the mound, he has a projectible frame with long levers. Has a smooth delivery and works with good tempo. He gathers over the rubber and works with good direction towards the plate. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 65-67mph at the bottom of the strike zone, a breaking ball with 11/5 shape, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an even and athletic stance. A simple/repeatable swing, with good hand separation, and hits ball where pitched. Rotates into a firm front side as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. With another year of development, we see Grant having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
