07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Grayson is a switch hitting SS/C who will graduate in 2019. In the INF, Grayson has clean actions, smooth hands, and he presents his glove well. He moves with good agility to the ball, gains momentum, and throws with accuracy from a clean arm action to his target. Continuing to add strength and fielding out in front more consistently will help INF skills improve. Behind the plate, Grayson sits in low, he tries to keep it in front when blocking, and throws to 2nd base with accuracy and pop times as low as 2.18. Catching can improve with added reps blocking and receiving and playing more through when throwing to his target. At the plate, Grayson is a better hitter from the right side. He has a tall set-up, proper load, and swings in smooth rhythm. Grayson keeps a still head and hits hard to the pull side.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
