03/24/2024 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Grayson is a C prospect who will graduate in 2026. He continues to show improvement in all facets of his game as he hit 90mph on his bat exit velocity. Athletic build with a strong lower half who should continue to add strength throughout. Has an easy sit and moves well laterally. He works his thumb under the baseball and has a loud mitt. Showed a quick release on his throws to second base. He is quick down on his blocks, with ability to deaden the ball, and tucks his chin. A right-handed hitter who hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with an on-time stride and shows good bat to ball skills. Shows a flat barrel through the hitting zone with good extension. During his round of BP, Grayson squared up balls to all fields. He should have opportunities to play at the next level with continued growth and development.

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Grayson is a 2026 catcher out of La Crosse, WI who showed well at the Preseason All American Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in 2.21 range. At the plate, he continues to shine through a closed setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Overall, Grayson is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

06/19/2023 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Grayson is a 2026 catcher out of La Crosse, WI who attended the Omaha National World Series. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering ball out front. Pop times showed in the 2.40 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities are well above average with solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, with strength in his swing and gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Grayson as he enters his sophomore year.

03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Grayson is a solid, strong catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.21 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 3 1/2 years to further develop, Grayson has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
