08/09/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Greg is a big, strong, 1st baseman with a 60 time as low as 6.96. In the INF, Greg has soft / sure hands, good footwork around the bag, and he fields the ball cleanly. He is a big target at 1st base who can get rid of the ball quickly and throw accurately to his target. Greg can improve defensively if he can get his glove down sooner and field it a little further out in front of his body. Offensively, Greg has a quiet approach, loose grip, and quick hands. He has a level swing, good bat speed, and good barrel accuracy. Greg will be an impact player both offensively and defensively at the next level.

07/20/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Greg is a 1B with a tall, wiry frame with broad shoulders that is well suited for his position. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 6.96 60 time. Feet are active displaying proper footwork around the bag as he presents a solid target at 1B. He would benefit from being more aggressive in coming to get and playing through ground balls. Throws shows accuracy from an over the top arm slot, but arm strength is an area that he needs to continue to work on. Offensively, Guers shows a balanced approach as he loads well with his hands working directly to the baseball, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power is best to the pull side due to long swing at times. Greg is an athletic player who has a lot potential. He will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
