06/27/2010 - Team One South 2010 Griffin is a thin, athletic, OF who will graduate in 2011. In the OF, Griffin has active feet and he reads the ball off the bat well. He takes good angles to the ball and makes things look easy. Griffin throws accurately with life and carry to his target. If Griffin can avoid camping under fly balls, and play through ground balls more, we could see already solid defensive grades become even better. At the plate, Griffin has a balanced approach and average bat speed. He has quick hands, and he centers the ball well on the barrel of the bat. Griffin is short to the ball, and if he can avoid wrapping the bat and add more strength, offensive numbers can rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
