08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Griffin is a hardworking C/3B prospect who has a versatile skill set and graduates in 2021. As a right-handed hitter, Griffin has a square setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He takes a square stride and uses his lower half throughout his swing. Griffin shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He consistently lands his barrel to the baseball. Griffin is a line drive type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. Behind the plate, Griffin has an effective setup with a solid, wide base. He has the proper secondary setup and receives the ball with a firm glove. Griffin is quick to his knees when needing to block the baseball. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot and is developing arm strength. Overall, Griffin plays the game hard and has the ability to make adjustments to take his game to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
