12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Griffin is a freshman outfielder from Baltimore, MD, who recently worked hard to develop his skills at the Baseball Factory Pirate City Holiday Camp. Defensively, he works with good direction and shows a quick first step back, allowing him to track the ball well in the outfield. His arm is strong, with a high three-quarter release point that produces an arm velocity of up to 75 mph. At the plate, Griffin starts with an even stance and tracks pitches well, making consistent contact during games. He recorded two singles and a walk in live action. Moving forward, Griffin can continue to develop by focusing on utilizing his lower half more effectively during his swing. He demonstrates a strong ability to be coached and is a great teammate. With three more years of growth and development ahead, Griffin has a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
