12/20/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Gunnar continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. He shows active footwork as he attacks ball, working to square ball up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/17/2023 - National Showcase - Minneapolis, MN Gunnar is a strong RHP/3B in the 2027 class. In the field, e shows a plus arm (79 velo) and is accurate across the diamond. He stays square to the baseball and his exchanges are clean. He has the trust factor to make the routine play look easy. Working to play lower to the ground, will help with hop adjustments. On the mound, he stays in the zone and works with great tempo. His FB sat 74-5 and showed running actions. His CB shaped 12-6 with late break at 62-3. His CH sat 68-71 with run and deception. At the plate, he has strong hands and engages his lower half well. Stays inside his feet and shows plus bat speed at 80 velo. Demonstrates pull side power and working to let the ball travel will give him full field production. Overall, Gunner is a great prospect in the 2027 class.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
