Gunner is a hardworking 3B prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Gunner has a square, athletic setup with his weight on his heels. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Gunner shows a direct swing path with quick hands producing square contact. He is a line drive type hitter with a middle of the field approach. Gunner also shows the ability to drive to each gap with power. At the hot corner, Gunner plays with active, effective footwork covering good ground. He works around the baseball and presents his glove as he fields it in a low, athletic position. He has a long exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He gives a clean feed on double plays and his throws have online carry across the diamond. Overall, Gunner has a well-rounded skill set with the right approach to the game giving him a bright future on the diamond.

Gunner continues to show improvements on the diamond. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and he presents well out front and throws are accurate. He moves well laterally with range increasing as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup and works on time. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and show plus barrel accuracy with power showing best to the pull side. The baseball explodes off the bat when centered.

Gunner continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he continues to show best through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and works through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and uses his lower half well, flashing gap to gap pop. Defensively, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls. Glove action is soft/clean but will benefit by presenting hands more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly.

Gunner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He utilizes his feet well as he moves well side to side, flashing range. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy/ carry on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, power potential is now well above average as he works through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Gunner is a hard working player with a great personality. He asks questions and brings it to the field every day, wanting to get better. At 3B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his feeds of the double play. Hands and feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable, and is a great team player. Gunner has abilities with time and room to continue to improve.

Gunner continues to show as a 3B/RHP with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive grade has improved, displaying smooth/clean actions. Hands/feet work well together through the fielding process. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more while presenting hands more out front and continues to increase foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a simple approach and makes consistent contact as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. On the mound, arm strength his improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and develops better off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
04/12/2015 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX
Gunner is a skilled (2018 grad) R/R 2-way player 3B/RHP. With the bat, this strong righty shows a square setup with good balance. He remains selective, waiting for his pitch. Swing path is level to and through the zone as he extends through his finish. More lower 1/2 drive will help him to tap into even more power potential. At the hot corner, Gunner shows active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Working through the GB more toward his target will help to improve his abilities at 3B. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. FB ranges from 72-74 mph while showing late run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape (64-68 mph) while changeup shows run. More glove-side lead and extension on his follow through will help to improve effectiveness on all pitches. Gunner has a ton of upside and will make an impact on the diamond.
