07/10/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Jupiter, FL Gus is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. In the field, Gus shows active footwork and moves well laterally. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball and produces strong line drives. On the mound, Gus gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Gus operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 55-56mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 56-57mph with sinking action. With five more years to develop, Gus has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
