01/24/2016 - College PREP - Delray Beach, FL Williams is an athletic (6'2"/190) RHP who has an effective 3-pitch mix. He works to a tall balance point and drives off of the rubber working downhill toward the dish. FB ranges from 77-79 mph while showing slight tail. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action - 66-68 mph. Changeup has slight sink as he works to keep it down in the zone. He works the ball in and out and throws strikes. Continuing to develop his off-speed pitches will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. With the bat, Hakim stands in and waits for his pitch. He takes a hack at pitches in the zone and looks to drive the middle of the field. Swinging on a more direct path with increased bat speed will result in more pop off of the barrel. Williams is a projectable RHP with upside.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
