06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Harris is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as he indicated by his 60 time of 7.15. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 9. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying sure hands as he makes the plays. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to play through balls more and work to get rid of the baseball quicker. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-83 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Harris has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.
