Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • LHP/OFPosition Projection

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Harrison continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are well above average with solid power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Slider resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Harrison is a 2024 pitching prospect out of Maryland who has the athleticism to be a 2-way player at the high school level as an OF and solid RH hitter. But, his ability on the mound with a repeatable left-handed delivery with good arm speed and control of a solid 2 pitch mix and developing third pitch in his CHG makes me a very promising pitching prospect at the next level. His arm action is repeatable with a clean easy arm stroke and efficient delivery showing the ability to continue to add velocity to his FB which currently pairs very well with his above average CB that has consistent shape with depth and late action in which he can throw it as a strike within the strike zone or snap it off for a chase pitch outside of the strike zone. His ability to mix these 2 pitches with an emerging CHG will give him a potential 3 pitch mix at the college level with pitchability and high pitching IQ to be potential starting pitching option.

10/10/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Harrison is an OF/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Harrison shows active footwork and covers ground well. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Harrison field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and works through a compact swing, producing solid contact. Harrison can barrel up more baseballs by getting into his load sooner. On the mound, Harrison works with a quick arm and finishes square to the plate. He operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 55-56mph with sharp 1-7 break. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Harrison improve his pitch command. With three more years to develop, Harrison has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
