Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

11/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Katy (Houston), TX Harrison is a 2B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Harrison makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Harrison field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works through a level swing, spraying the ball to all fields. Harrison can barrel up more baseballs by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. On the mound, Harrison gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes on target. He works through a controlled delivery and repeats it well. Harrison operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 64mph. Breaking ball sits from 55-57mph with 11-5 break. Striding square toward the plate can help Harrison improve his pitch command. With four more years to develop, Harrison has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Harrison continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 57-61 with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break.

12/06/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Missouri City (Houston), TX Harrison is a solid RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. 1B, he shows smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 63-65 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock will improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Harrison has potential with time to progress his game.

01/26/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Mont Belvieu (Houston), TX Harrison is a 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. In the INF, Harrison has some range, looks the ball in, and his hands are firm. He flashes a nice back hand, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency across the diamond. On the mound, Harrison has good balance, he works in good tempo, and he gets solid extension toward home plate. His FB touched 60 MPH, he showed a controlled landing toward home, and competes in the zone. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
