07/17/2017 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Hayden is a tall, athletic 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential. Hands are quick (88mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap power. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Feet are active as he attacks balls, playing through well. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. With 2 years to further develop, Hayden has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
