04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Oklahoma City , OK Haygon is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. In the infield, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and has active feet. He takes aggressive angles towards baseball with the ability to make routine plays. He fields from a low/square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a clean exchange. He made accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 81mph across diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Small hand load with knob to C and gets his elbow in slot. Gets good extension out front as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during his round of BP. With another season of development, Haygon should have a bright future on the baseball diamond.

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Upper Class (2023-2024) Haygon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/20/2022 - All-In Membership - Oklahoma City , OK Haygon is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. He shows off good athleticism and strength throughout his initial testing. In the field, he uses active feet to help create range for himself. Fields from an athletic position and does a good job securing the baseball throughout the transfer process. Has a clean arm action with multiple arm slots. Throws are on line and accurate across the infield. At the plate, he shows a level bat path and extension through the baseball helping him create square contact. Does a good job of utilizing the whole field and working gap-to-gap. Shows some opposite field power potential. On the mound, he delivers all pitches from a high ¾ arm slot. Does a good job of showing clean mechanics with good direction towards the plate. Consistently gets on top of the baseball and works downhill. Fastball is his best pitch, was 71-73 MPH and showed some arm side run. Curveball was best secondary and was 62-64 MPH with 10-4 shape. Also flashed a changeup that was 66-68 MPH. Could see great improvements on the mound with added arm strength. Haygon is a well-rounded player with 2 years to continue to develop before entering college.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
