09/05/2010 - College PREP - Plainfield, IN Heath is a young, thin, OF who will graduate in 2012. Defensively, Heath reads the ball off the bat well and he makes plays. He catches with 2 hands, plays through the ball, and squares his body to his target. Heath will need to become more aggressive, quicken his exchange, and add arm strength in order to get better defensively. At the plate, Heath has an open stance, quick hands, and he puts the ball in play. He has a line drive approach and can work the ball to all fields. Heath will need to add strength, improve his extension, and use more lower 1/2 in order to get better offensively.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
