12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Hector is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, Hector shows efficient footwork and fields in a square position. He makes a two-handed exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Taking a better first step can help Hector improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He takes a compact swing and rotates his core well, leading to solid contact to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Hector improve as a hitter. On the mound, Hector gathers over the rubber and works with a loose arm, keeping his pitches around the zone. His fastball tops out at 64mph. Hector can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Hector has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Hector is a young, 2-way player with a solid frame. At 3rd base, Hector has efficient footwork, he covers ground well, and fields in a square position. His glove works well, he has a quick/clean exchange, and he throws with consistency and carry across the diamond. On the mound, Hector has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he gets good extension on his pitches; finishing in a complete position. At the plate, Hector has a square/athletic stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He has a simple swing, a short/direct barrel, and he hits line drives gap to gap. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
