05/14/2017 - College PREP - Colorado Springs, CO Henry is a lean, lanky 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and utilizes his lower half well with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Henry has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
