Henry is a switch hitting C/RHP and he recently impressed scouts with his actions on the diamond. Behind the plate, he has quick feet and agile movements. Shows athletic ability while receiving and is short and quick with his catch to throw actions. Uses short arm action to create accurate feeds. Advanced blocker for his age and is quick to drop and recover. On the mound, he stays tall and repeats his delivery. His FB touched 74 and was in the zone. His CB sat 61-6 with 11-5 shape and medium break. His SP/CH sat 63-6 and offered sinking actions. At the plate, he shows a line drive approach and can use the whole field. Utilizes his hips well and shows above hand eye coordination by constantly being on the barrel. Overall, Henry is a must follow in the 2025 class.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Henry is a switch-hitting C/RHP in the 2023 class. Behind the plate, his feet are effective, and his exchanges are quick. Gains a short high ¾ release to produce accurate feeds to the bag. Sat 2.15-2.20 on the day and with some added strength, he can lower his times. At the plate, he has balance from both sides. Is athletic in his set-up and uses short strides. Gains separation and can create hard contact. Has high contract rate from both sides with a little more pop from the right. He did not pitch due to rain on day 2. Overall, Henry is a next level player.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Henry continues to show improvements his baseball abilities at the Recruiting Classic showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, deadening balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.09 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as an LHH where he has improved his hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He competes on the mound and shows good mound presence. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and great team player.

As he goes to throw, he gets momentum towards second making clean exchanges and is accurate to the bag. Blocking, his footwork is agile, and he centers the ball well keeping it in front allowing for effortless recovery. Squaring his stance off should allow Henry to get more strikes called and give the pitcher a better target. At the dish, Henry sets up in a square and tall stance with high hands. He shows good rhythm with controlled movements as he works to get the barrel on plane with the pitch. He rotates his core well to generate power and works a simple line drive approach. Henry has a good presence on the mound with simple movements as he gathers over the rubber. His arm action is clean as he keeps his shoulders in line to the plate falling off slightly to the 1B side. A long toss program can help him generate more arm strength on the mound and behind the dish. As a 2-way player, Henry can be a versatile player as he continues to develop over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
