Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Salem, VA Henry is a promising C/RHP with a strong foundation and plenty of time to refine his skills before his 2029 graduation. Behind the plate, he displays good pocket awareness, presenting a firm mitt to stick pitches effectively. He utilizes his body well in blocking but will benefit from getting his body down more quickly. His pop times, currently in the 2.70 range, are accurate, and continued arm-strength development through a long-toss program will help bring those times down further. At the plate, Henry starts from a squared setup with quick hands that drive an aggressive swing path. He consistently makes solid contact, showcasing a line-drive approach with his best power to the pull side. Greater engagement of his lower half will unlock additional power potential. On the mound, his fastball ranges from 58-59 mph and is complemented by a breaking ball with an 11/5 shape and gradual movement. His changeup is effective, showing arm-side run with consistent arm speed. As he builds more arm strength, his stock as a pitcher will rise. With five years to develop, Henry has the tools and time to become a well-rounded player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
