03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Henry continues to show a promising future on the diamond with his baseball abilities. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential is solid through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Henry continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and play through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Henry is a 2026 SS who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. At SS, he starts in an athletic position with ability to close distance on batted balls. He works from right to left and creates good fielding angles. He showed a glove angle to his backhand side with his eyes behind his glove. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm stroke in back, and an arm velocity up to 75mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance with high hands. He gets good hand separation with a square glide step. He hits into a firm frontside and gets on-plane early. Showed good bat to ball skill as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. During the games, he reached base 4 times with 3 singles, and 1 base on balls. Henry is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/18/2022 - All-In Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Henry is a lean SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 4 years to further develop, Henry has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
