11/19/2017 - College PREP - Pearland (Houston), TX Henry is a strong, athletic 2020 OF prospect who shows ability all over the field. He runs well and shows athletic actions that will make him a threat on the bases and extend his range in the field. He shows feel to hit with a balanced setup in the box and tracking ability to be patient and hit a pitch he can drive. His lower half is strong and generates pop to the pull side with potential for more power to come. In the outfield, he uses active, efficient feet to get a quick first step and cover ground to make plays. He fields square with firm hands to keep everything in front and makes accurate throws to his target. Implementing a long toss program will improve arm strength moving forward. Henry is an interesting prospect we look forward to watching as he continues to develop.

10/22/2017 - College PREP - Conroe (Houston), TX Henry is a lean, athletic OF who will graduate in 2020. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls, tracking balls to glove. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and will continue to improve as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Henry has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
