06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Houston continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 6.91. He utilizes his quick feet well in squaring up balls and plays through well with his body. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he learns to present his hands more out front. At the plate, he displays a balanced setup with hands working through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 6 for 11 with 2 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-77 mph with arm side run on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup with fading action but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
