07/17/2023 - National Showcase - Minneapolis, MN Hudson is a catcher in the 2028 class with a bright future. Behind the plate, he has a high motor and plays will pure energy. Displays athletic and flexible actions and is an above average receiver. Pocket is soft and he can maintain the strike zone. His exchanges are clean and uses a short high 3/4 arm slot on his throws. Registered at 2.6 pop time and as he continues to mature, scouts feel he can become a 2.0. At the plate, he likes to use the middle of the field with a quick bat path. Stays balanced in his swing and has a strong feel for plate coverage. Overall, there is a lot to like about his game and scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
