09/16/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Hunter is a special talent who is a LHP/1B and excels at both. On the mound he has an ideal pitcher's frame, a loose/clean arm and three outstanding pitches. His fastball jumps on hitters in the 90-94 mph range and throws it with ease. His breaking ball is more of a slider, but does have 2-plane late break thanks to his 3/4 slot and very tight rotation. Hunter rounds out his arsenal with a split-change that is thrown with good arm speed and has some late drop to it. Add this stuff into an athletic delivery and you have one of the top LHPs in the 2019 class. Hunter also has a direct, coordinated LH stroke at the plate with big power. His athleticism plays well at 1B also, making him a true 2-way prospect at the University of Virginia, where he is committed. Look for big things from Hunter in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
