Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

06/10/2024 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Hunter is a SS/RHP in the class of 2025. He shows off a good frame with room to continue to fill out. In the field, he does a good job of creating angles and working downhill to the baseball. His hands work with fluidity as he consistently finds the right hop. Shows ability to throw from multiple arm angles. On the mound, he works out of the stretch only. He does a good job repeating his delivery which helps him fill up the zone with strikes. He showed a good fastball that got up to 76mph as well as a breaking ball with good shape. At the plate, he hits from a crouched stance and shows off a fast bat. Consistently showed the ability to hit line drives into all parts of the field. Hunter is a well-rounded, dual position, high school player that we look forward to seeing continued success.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Hunter continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At 3B, he displays proper footwork as he works to square ball up. Glove action is clean and fields out front. At the plate, he shows a line drive approach. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he does a nice job of repeating delivery. Fastball showed a range of 74-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with loose spin. He has good poise and is composed on the bump. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/12/2023 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Hunter is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. On the mound he works with good tempo and throws all 3 of his pitches for strikes. He has a simple/repeatable delivery and works with good direction down the mound. He attacks hitters with his FB that sat 73-75mph with some movement in the zone. He mixes in an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen session. In the infield has a good prep step, with active/efficient footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with soft hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 72mph across diamond. A right-handed hitter he hits from an athletic and open stance. Smooth timing to swing and keeps his hands inside the baseball. During his round of BP, he hit balls to the opposite field with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Hunter having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
